Smithills Birds of Prey was established in 2010 in conjunction with Smithills open farm.

The centre is located at Smithills Open Farm in Bolton, which is set in the grounds of Smithills Country Park immersed in 2000 acres of beautiful countryside. The farm itself covers approximately 100 acres.

At the birds of prey centre, you can view the birds at close quarters and see the aviaries where the birds are housed.
Weather permitting, the birds spend their days out in the fresh air on their perches, so you can really get up close and see the grace and elegance of the birds.
You can watch as the birds are fed and see how majestic they are in flight as they are given their daily exercise.

We offer a variety of experiences, providing you with an opportunity to spend some time with the birds and discover more about them.

Our birds of prey centre is open 7 days a week from 10.00am until 17.00pm. this includes Bank Holidays.
We are closed Christmas day, Boxing day and New Years Day.

Souvenir photos. School visits. Falconry beginner courses are all available.
